A really bizarre movie that is all over the place in its themes and symbolism. Yet the photography is gorgeous, the characters are likable, and somehow it all works as a whole. 6 years 6 months ago -

A lovely eccentric film full of humourous quirks of character and details of 'Englishness'. Not in the top rank of Powell and Pressburger's films, lacking some of the dramatic edge of their classics, but perfect Sunday afternoon viewing nonetheless. 12 years 5 months ago -

So little plot for a film over two hours long, but I liked how the main characters each found a little note of salvation in the end. I totally agree with LiquidSplitter saying it was almost like a proto-Robert Altman film.
Most unexpected reference to marijuana EVER. 2 years 7 months ago
