Satyricon on speed. With no money and loud music. Very worthwhile.

Surprised that Bresson isn't better represented but it is a very strong list.

The amount of negative comments has me bamboozled.

Masterpiece if there was ever one. This and Mouchette are two of the greatest of cinema. Once seen it will never leave you.

Strange that anyone would consider this a slow movie. It's not quite the same masterpiece that Mouchette or Balthazar are it is a comparative action thriller.

Are movies meant to be entertaining? If so I'd want to rethink my evaluation of Bresson ,Dreyer and Mizoguchi movies.

The only problem with this film is it's brevity. Don't know how anyone can think a film with this amount of material and only 2 hours 15 in length is too slow. With the material in just the adapted script I think Lynch could easily have made a part one and two of 2 hours length each.

Fascinating movie. Didn't have adequate subtitles in the version I saw but the cinematic language of Bresson still got through each scene in a beautiful and at the same time awful way.

Loved it. Up there with the greatest of the broad noir genre. Completely unique amongst them also. Tremendous dialogue and a plot that will mess with your noggin.

Strange that such an influential film gets such negative response. Got almost instantly reminded of Lindsay Andersons If.

Exactly half of Tarantino films are at least very good. The Kill Bills and Django dont belong in that group.

No Sansho. I cant get over that. At least underrated Sisters of Gion is included.

Having no movies by the great Kenji Mizoguchi is probably the biggest disappointment about this list. Otherwise it could be a lot worse.

Under-seen and under-appreciated masterpiece by a true master of cinema.

Terrible list. It badly needs to be replaced by the Time Out Paris Top 100 from a few years ago.
