Excellent movie. Multi layered and can be watched many times. I like the presentation of alone while surrounded by people and events. Not depressing but introspective.
I'm not going to lie, I didn't get the whole story. I was confused at times and I might need to rewatch it again some day. But despite that, I still think it was beautiful.
This is my first approaching at the art of Wong Kar Wai. And the movie was beautiful. For all the senses... But, maybe I just need to watch other films of this director, for a better context.
It's a cool and incredibly gorgeous continuation of In The Mood For Love, but I definitely need to go back and rewatch it after seeing this. Both are good, but In the Mood is a masterpiece.
It feels like a parody of an arthouse film. Too long, repetitive, and meta in very silly ways. It actually feels like the director is purposely messing with his audience (especially those that liked in the mood for love).
I LOVE In the Mood for Love. I had to stop watching this because I felt ITMFL ended so perfectly and I really didn't want to see it continued. In my mind I want Chow to spend eternity walking away from the hole he wispered his secret into.
If I hadn't fallen in love with In the Mood for Love just recently, I guess I would have liked this film better.
It's still a good film, but I was disappointed slightly.
