There is group of miners working for some crook. Their situation is very bad, but when someone with plan to really succeed in their goal comes, they decline going with him and stay with the crook. Only 2 or 3 of them leave him.
After that it's very simple... They succeed (the small group, not the crook's one), get the loan, build the mines, etc. Then the big change in film's narrative happens. Or better, narrative ends for over a half of the film. There is just lots of shots of their success, natural beauty and stuff like that. Nothing happens.
Towards the end the crook reappears. Everything can be understood without understanding a single word of intertitles. Except the very last photo (film's ending in probably damaged or lost or something), where
