Cover Girl

Ever since the first day iCheckMovies was released, we have received emails of people notifying us of missing or incorrect covers. Most of the missing or incorrect covers had to do with the source we were using for our covers. However, as of today we have switched to another, far more reliable and exhaustive source for our covers: MoviePosterDB. The immediate benefit of this switch is that you should be seeing a lot less movies without covers.

The covers on MoviePosterDB are uploaded by users. That means that if you see a movie on iCheckMovies without a cover, you can add the cover to MoviePosterDB and it will be automatically added to the corresponding movie on iCheckMovies. Hurray for user-generated content! Please note that we check for new covers in batches though, which means that it might take some time for us to pick up a cover that has been added to MoviePosterDB. However, you can speed up this process! To do so, simply hover over the cover on a movie's details page and click on the "Add cover" link. This will lead you to a page where you can prioritize the cover retrieval for this movie. The same system also works for incorrect covers; just hover over the existing cover and click on the "Incorrect cover?" link.

Our thanks go out to the guys a MoviePosterDB (which are fellow Dutchmen! :D). They have done a great job and we are very glad that we are allowed to use their content. We hope you like this new feature!
