1. I use the website to find new films to watch and to keep track of what I have watched and what I want to watch. I've discovered some amazing films that I probably would have dismissed otherwise. I love reading the comments left by other users on each film and am glad that they are readable from a movie's main page again. I also love making lists, but since I do not have a paid account yet I am not doing that as much as I would like.
2. The search function is greatly improved but still problematic, particularly with non-english titles. The AKA titles are often lacking.
3. I don't use any other part of the site but the lists.
Oh yay!! I've been anxiously awaiting this day. I use this site so often, and a lot of the times I rather use it on my iPod then boot up the laptop, so I'm excited for this news!
1 - I use this site to check all the movies I've seen, when I've seen them, make 'to watch' lists of movies I want to see, make filmography pages of actors I really enjoy, and browse all the incredible lists of movies out there.
2 - Sometimes the searching for a specific movie is bad. Like with some non-English speaking films, the English title is more well known then the native title, and it can be hard to find the film. Also, there should be an easier/clearer way to report that a title or date is wrong.
3 - I've never understood why this website has tv shows. It's called icheckmovies.com, why are there so many tv shows here?? I can understand keeping tv mini-series or specials (a la Angels in America) but I wish the general tv shows would go.
1. I use this place to keep track of what I watch, plus it's fun with the lists and such even if I watch too many obscure movies that's not on any official lists. So more lists with obscure movies please :)
2. One thing I really miss is a way to add 'Personal Rating' for the movies like on IMDB (and maybe added when importing). Wish there was a place for that next to (and just as clear as the) 'check box' on the lists and a function where I can sort the lists by my ratings too would be helpful.
That might also be a feature which could increase interest the social aspect of the site. More of a reason for people to browse and keep in touch with other users to check and see what others felt about a movie.
3. Right now, none of the social features interest me. But maybe one day they will. As of now I'm just on a solo mission.
* Recommended movies and neighbors have annoying algorithms. If 15 of my neighbors watched a movie and 0 favorited it, it should definetly not be recommended - none of my neighbors liked it, why should I watch it? Recommendations should be based purely on favorites and dislikes.
* I am often missing a "What-owned-movies-did-I-not-watch-yet?" button.
1. I use the site to help organize my Netflix queue, and I also like the links that have surfaced in the comment sections to films streaming some where on the internet.
2. I would really like to be able to customize what tab I am on when I go to a list. If I could set my default to the "Unchecked" tab, with all movies showing (instead of the first 50) I would do that to save my self a couple clicks.
I also have some friends who's activity is interesting and others whose isnt. Id like to block them from my activity stream without defriending.

The group section feels awkward, it could use more forum-options such as threads. Another thing I just thought of was allowing members (or) groups to pose and enter challenges as on the ICM-forum (http://s15.zetaboards.com/iCheckMovies/index/).
Recommendations are usually not very accurate, the formula behind this could probably use tinkering but this could be different for other (types of) users. Maybe make it tweakable as to what factors are considered or how they are weighted?
The charts are ok but I would like to see the awards-chart back, I personally thought that was a lot of fun. Cheaters are the reason it was removed in 2.0 but with the amount of charts completed by the top charts, cheaters would now have to check off 40+ charts in order to even get noticed. Others charts would be more interesting if the filtering works better (filtering out seen movies out of most checked)
3. I don´t use the groups, neighbours, recommendations and most charts.

Additionally, to keep track of what I've seen. I don't own 95% of what I've checked on here but my Favorites helps me decide what my next purchase will be in a quick, clean way.

--Also - I'm not sure if it'll be easy to fix, but - the movie search could use a little clean-up. By that I mean, allow for it to find movies by the main titles seen on IMDb (as well as the original title, which is already there); and it does seem to be a tad bit inaccurate sometimes. I generally have to go through IMDb and search for the movie then re-search it on here. But it's not a big problem, more of a tiny inconvenience.
3. The activity stream I can still do without - I like the idea that there's a separate tab for it, so why not remove the "Recent Activity" from our profile? It's a little too messy, still. Also the groups, neighbours, recommended list. Those are things I personally don't use, though I suppose others apparently still do.

The neighbors feature - I can't understand if it works well or not. It seems strange to me that my closest neighbor has only 54% of compatibility with me.
I've discussed this with you before, but a way to import movies from IMDB using their CSV file you can export. Currently I CANNOT import my movies because I have too many rated on IMDB. I just get continuous timeouts.

As well as progressing through lists to reap rewards, but mainly because they are usually great movies. I like reading the comments on movies too. I like the descriptions on some official lists I've read, like the decades ones. More of that would be fun I guess.
I've been using the website for over a year now and when I signed up the IMDb import was excellent. When I've signed up friends who haven't been meticulously IMDb rating everything they have ever seen I think you should start 'em out on the most checked movies for em to be able to get started checking. Cause that's what I make em do. Also fun to see what movies they've seen of the most popular movies.
2. My biggest complaint was movie posters being missing, but it's good you are working to remedy this. And can't wait for a mobile app (iPhone for me) but I use the website on mobile anyway and it works fine. More a convenience factor than anything. I don't know how your Facebook integration is and you may already have something like this, but each time I check a movie it would be good for spreading how good ICM is by sending the activity to the news ticker, not the wall/news feed because that would be annoying, but the news ticker so it's not intrusive to everyone but it could get noticed enough for people to want to check out the site.
3. I don't like TV shows and episodes being included, but I just don't check them so it solves that. But if people are checking TV shows you should keep it.
- Keep a list of my favorites, owned movies and dislikes
- Get ideas for movies to watch, mainly by looking at my favorite lists and adding movies on there to my watchlist.
- Looking at my friends' activity (yes I really love the latest update!). I had to filter out some inactive friends though because all I kept seeing was a list of 10 people that dropped places every other day.
How I use it: 99% of the time on my iPhone, 75% of that time during a movie. A good mobile layout would help a lot.
Oh, and as mentioned I also don't use recommendations, they're much too generic.
