Platoon

In all our enthusiasm, we announced that we were working on iCheckMovies 2.0 quite a long time ago. Although most of you have been very patient, it seemed like it would be another "Duke Nukem Forever" story. We also feel that it took way too long, but there have been very good reasons for the delay and we did not want to compromise on the quality of the website. Sorry for that.

The good news is that we are actually nearing completion and are almost ready to go in beta. How about that? You didn't see that coming, did you? Okay, so maybe some of you did, hats off to you then. Anyway, for the beta, we need a whole platoon of users that are willing to test iCheckMovies 2.0. In other words, we would like you to help us iron out the remaining bugs and test all (new and old) functionality. If you get a kick out of finding bugs in other people's software (we're looking at you professional testers!) or just want to make iCheckMovies 2.0 as great as possible, please send us an email and state that you would like to be a beta tester. If we select you as one of our testers, you will receive an email once the beta starts.

There are some things about the beta that you need to know:
1. It will run besides iCheckMovies.com, and not replace it. Testers will thus be able to access both (which is great for comparison purposes).
2. The beta does not share data with the live website (although it will contain the same data when it starts). This means that the beta website is really like a virtual playground, where the testers get to try out all features freely without any fear of messing up their actual iCheckMovies.com accounts.
3. We expect to be in beta for a couple of weeks, but this depends on the number of bugs found :)
