New Budapest 12 (2000)

In 1968, members of FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) voted for the top 12 Hungarian films of the last 20 years, which they called the "Budapest 12." In 2000, members of the Hungarian Film and Television Artists Association and the National Association of Hungarian Journalists (film and television department) voted for the top 12 Hungarian films of all time, which they called the "New Budapest 12." -

Tabloid Bintang's 25 Best Indonesian Films

Of the 160 movies that were mentioned, it was made a list of 25 movies considered to be the best movies from Indonesia of all time. The jury consisted of 20 critics and journalists. The 100 best Swiss Films

For this 4th edition, 36 Professionals (Critics, Festival directors, academics) have chosen their absolute favorites from a given list of 200 films and graded the other films accordingly. The whole range of CH films was available for selection. -

100 Essential New Zealand Films
Favs/dislikes: 6:0. Book by Hamish McDouall Published October 2009 This is a collection of 100 films - features, documentaries and shorts. As such, it is a subjective list of "essential" titles and since limited to 100, some of your favourites will be missing. Given that, it contains some very helpful summaries and reviews of films you should experience. The author states that he "make(s) no apologies for not including ... '[url=https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/footrot+flats+the+dogs+tale/]Footrot Flats[/url]', but does not explain why. If you meet him, will you ask him and let me know. That aside, perhaps this book is covering too much ground and would have been better off limiting its coverage to feature films, even if that included feature documentaries. Given the number of New Zealand short films, that group should have its own book. An excellent index has been included, but more viewing, rental and purchase sources are needed. With the shortage of reviews for many of these titles, the major contribution of Mr. McDouall's book is his commentaries on the films. They will assist in helping you learn about some New Zealand film gems and just might give you that push to see something you have yet to experience. Do yourself a favour and start by giving this a read. Films are listed in alphabetical order. The Lord of the Rings trilogy is counted as a single entry. Encyclopedia of Indian Cinema (all films)

Written by Rajadhyaksha (senior fellow, Centre for the Study of Culture and Society, Bangalore) and Willemen (critical studies, Napier Univ., Edinburgh), this is a one-stop reference book on Indian cinema. Encompassing films in the major Indian languages, this revised edition (originally published in 1994 and updated to 1995) contains entries on directors, stars, producers, writers, and composers and lists birth and death dates, background information, and filmography. A chronological listing of films from 1912 onwards--complete with cast, credits, and plot synopses--is also provided; and black-and-white photographs appear throughout. In addition, a time line chronicles major milestones in Indian cinema, and a chart displays film statistics on both sound and silent films. An extensive bibliography and a name and film index rounds the volume out. Rao) was released in 1961 however imdb has put 1964 as its release year. #968: There's limited info on Uyyale / The Swing (N. Lakshminarayan) but the book puts 1969 as the release date for this, this is mistakenly put as 1964 on imdb. #1580: Mani Kaul's Idiot was made into a 180 minutes film and a 223 minutes mini-series. Only the mini-series exists on imdb. -
