Netflix movies (USA)
Favs/dislikes: 59:3. There are already several lists on iCheckMovies of films available on Netflix. Unfortunately they have a tendency to be incomplete and quickly become out of date. This is an attempt to make a more comprehensive and semi-automated version. A program scrapes data from instantwatcher.com of everything available on Netflix, and then cross-references the title and year against a list of films that meet a set of criteria for notability or interest (including every movie that is an official check). Titles that are official checks are listed first. IMPORTANT NOTE: I am no longer able to scrape the website I was getting the data from. I am trying to find a solution, but the list is not currently being updated. -
Tim Wambolt's Goriest Movies Ever Made
Favs/dislikes: 56:1. The personal choices of Tim Wambolt for the goriest movies ever made, as seen on the now-defunct Running with Scissors website. Tim Wambolt's current lists are found on his website at [url=http://www.goryvideogames.com/]http://www.goryvideogames.com/[/url], but this list is currently based on the original Running with Scissors list which included hundreds of honorable mentions. The list is ordered by amount of gore, and everything after 97 should only be considered an "honorable mention". This list is currently incomplete due to IMDb not having listings for some of the short films and more obscure titles. Time Out's best horror films
Favs/dislikes: 48:1. Time Out proudly presents the 100 best horror movies, as chosen by those who write in, direct, star in and celebrate the genre. Time Out polled well over 100 horror enthusiasts – including big names like Roger Corman, Guillermo del Toro, Simon Pegg, Clive Barker and Alice Cooper, and horror legends like Coffin Joe, Kim Newman and Tom Six – and came up with a definitive top 100 list. The list was first produced in 2012. The list was revised in 2016 with the inclusion of new voters, including Stephen King. After the top 100 I have included the runners up: every film nominated by the contributers. -
Kim Newman's Nightmare Movies

Martin Scorsese’s Guilty and Unguilty Pleasures

Martin Scorsese lists his guilty pleasures in an article for Film Comment, along with an additional "100 random pleasures" divided into 50 guilty and 50 unguilty pleasures. 1-30 are the guilty pleasures described in detail in the main body of the article. 31-80 are the guilty pleasures in the random pleasures list, which he describes by saying: "On the whole, these films are not good. They’re guilty. But there are things in them that make you like them, that make them worthwhile." 81-130 are the unguilty pleasures in the random pleasures list, which he describes as "films that I love, even though something spoils them." Favs/dislikes: 28:1. This is a list of every film voted for in the iCM 500<400 poll that is tagged as being in the horror genre on IMDb (genre tags are subject to change and the whims of IMDb users). It is ranked by number of points it received in the poll. 1-19 were top 500 and in the official list, 20-39 were in the 500-1000 range, 40-101 were in the 1001-2000 range, 102-296 were in the 2001-5000 range. -

Favs/dislikes: 17:1. All the films that appear as clips in the updated 1996 revision of Chuck Workman's oscar-winning "Precious Images" short film, showing clips from 100 years of American film. "Precious Images" was commissioned by the Directors Guild for their 75th anniversary. Some films appear twice and are not repeated in the list. -
Films101's Top 1000
Favs/dislikes: 16:2. The top 1000 ranked films from the Films101 website. Their description: The bulk of the Films101 database comes from all-time best movie lists and movie awards. Best Picture and Foreign Language Film nominees are included, many of which have been forgotten, but now are easy to find through the many browsing options. New movie releases are added when picked by selected critics. The films are ranked in order of acclaim among film professionals, using proprietary formulas. Films101 doesn't believe the exact ranking of films and filmmakers should be taken too seriously. However, approximate rankings are taken very seriously as an alternative to alphabetical or chronological listings for film research. -

BAFTA Best British Film Awards (Winners and Nominees)
Favs/dislikes: 14:1. All the nominees and winners for every film nominated for a BAFTA in the Best British Film category and its equivalents. This category was awarded from 1948-1968, after which it was dropped and reintroduced in 1993 as the "Alexander Korda Award for Best British Film". It was renamed "Outstanding British Film" in 2010. -

Bad Cinema Society's "The Worst Films of the 20th Century"
Favs/dislikes: 7:8. The Hastings Bad Cinema Society's Poll of the worst movies of the 20th century (in alphabetical order). Their website is now sadly defunct but the list is present on several list sites on the web, and the original is accessible using the Wayback Machine Archive. The poll's introduction reads: On June 16, 1998, the American Film Institute announced its choices for the 100 greatest films ever made. The group called its list 100 Years, 100 Movies. To no one’s surprise, just about everybody in America disagreed with the titles on the list. Anybody can make a list of great movies. We [The Bad Cinema Society] thought it would be helpful if a group had the guts to put together a list of the all-time worst films. So, about a month after the AFI announcement, the Hastings Bad Cinema Society announced that it too would be making an "end of the century" list, but the 100 movies it planned to "honor" would all be stinkers. -
