IMDb lists series as well, even though it's called the Internet Movie Database. If you don't want to check them, then don't. They don't add to your official count anyway :)
I don't see the point in checking TV episodes, since the whole point of my "total checked" number is to keep track of how many movies I've seen. I've seen every episode of this series, just as I've seen every episode of a number of other long-running TV shows, but checking them would just seem like "cheating" to get my total numbers that much higher.
At the end of the day, I think I have better things to do than trying to delude myself and other people into thinking I've seen more movies than I actually have.
