It would be nice to see an update of this list to contain films more recent than 1995, most of my German cinema viewing seems to be recent films and they've been very good

This list is from 1995. Baader-Meinhof Complex is from 2008. Do the math.

Why? It clearly states that this is a list of most important films, and TdW was certainly groundbreaking and influential. Seems silly to feel sad about it simply because the subject matter is not to your liking.

@Sebastian: I'm not surprised that a german is part of the SWDB (Spaghetti Western Data Base),some of my best Spaghetti Western DVD's are German editions.

40% of the list (41 of 102) and 18 of the top 25 are from 1933 or before. It's a good illustration of how great and influential the German expressionist movement was, before fascism killed it.
