I keep a 'phrase book', as it were of witty comments, and the amount I've added due to watching these classic noirs- many of them understated- is incredible.
This list is a lot of fun to earn an award for. I've had a blast watching umpteen noirs over the last few weeks; it's such a terrific "genre" that I never get tired of them. Lots of hidden gems lurking.
Netflix has recently add a bunch of these films (not currently on DVD) to their instant play list.
These include "Impact", "Fear in the Night", "Ruthless", "The Scar", "Edge of Doom", "Moonrise", "Private Hell 36", "Strange Affair of Uncle Harry", "Turning Point", "Witness to Murder", "The Killer is Loose", "Cry Danger", "I Walk Alone" and many others!!

No, it wasn't meant as a comment disparaging the genre. It was just an "over the halfway hump" self-congratulatory comment. In fact, I've seen quite a few more since posting that (I'm up to 138 out of 250 now), including Underworld USA. And Phantom Lady and Crime Wave I am certainly looking forward to!
