Not an easy story to tell, yet I think they did a pretty good job.

The use of sounds and acting of Franco was very well at this movie. However, it was "hardest to watch" movie for me. I felt so dizzy when he was hurting himself that i almost puked!

Good film. The scene everyone talks about wasn't nearly as bad as I was led to believe. Who knew James Franco could do good acting? Wow, just wow!

Really great movie, one of the most intense movie experiences I've ever had. I got all thirsty during the movie. And when is the last time you can say that a movie physically affected you?

Very powerful, visceral film, Danny Boyle continues to excel and James Franco has definitely come into his own. The editing was superb. 9/10

Have you ever thought how far would you go to keep alive? This is an amazing movie with a beautiful life story about ( not so ) ordinary people.

Because I already knew how it would end, I was with low expectations despite the critics and comments but I was perplex and captivated from the beginning to the end.

Franco is stunning and the crew is impeccable. Really good soundtrack, cinematography and editing. I'm becoming more and more Danny Boyle's fan.

9/10

I really enjoyed this film!
I thought the shots were fantastic and the editing was paced in just the right way so it never became boring for me. I was squirming in my seat when he was cutting through the tendons in his arm! A great performance from James Franco also.

Though I've watched and enjoyed every Danny Boyle movie, I'm only getting to 127 Hours now because, well, I'm less interested in "true stories" and biopics than fiction, and forgotten Boyle directed it. So James Franco plays a real-life thrill seeker who gets his hand trapped under a rock in the desert and survived and escaped in the requisite number of hours, and in terms of knowing what happened, well there was no avoiding it, so this one came pre-spoiled. Still, Boyle knows how to shoot it, in tight shots and extreme close-ups, as if with a camera phone, giving you the proper claustrophobic feeling. When we see light, it's blinding. When something is gross, it's disgusting. We're in that space, but more importantly, in the character's head space. That also allows the film to give us some visual respite from the tight canyon with imagination and memory, some hopeful, some dark, some bizarre as Franco becomes delirious or panicked. And though the conclusion is foregone, it's still interesting to see what a capable person does to survive in that situation, with what is at hand (sorry).

Good acting and nice storytelling, made up almost with nothing. But sincerely guys, what's up with all those horrible cheap effects going on all the movie? and even though i can read several comments like: “OMG amazing direction, dunno why diz didnt won oscar” come on.

Great acting and directing, but the fact that I knew exactly how the story would pan out detracted somewhat from my overall enjoyment.

I liked it! I was sort of expecting a bad movie due to hearing several friends going "meh".

The tension was great, and sound design was used really well. Franco did a solid performance, and you really felt close to him.
