Rewatched this recently - better than I remembered. It's the worst of the original Indy movies and Willie can be insufferable, but still better than most action movies since. Indiana's character is perfect, the pacing is solid, it looks and sounds great, and there are some great action scenes (the last 30 minutes stand up to almost any modern blockbuster). The weird dark stuff makes a nice contrast to Last Crusade's more lighthearted feel, while Raiders is the most balanced of the three.Zeltaebar
Temple of Doom is a mixed bag. Some of the coolest moments in the Indiana Jones series can be found here, like the raft escape from the plane, the room with the spike trap or the incredible minecart race. Unfortunatly, there are some gripes to be had as well, such as the overall mean-spirited direction the movie takes under the Pankot Palace or the annoying screams and whining from Willy. Instead of focusing on the negatives, one should approach the movie in a positive manner and look at the greatness present: Harrison Ford in his prime and in his most iconic role, the amazing soundtrack by John Williams, the cool special effects, the lush jungle locations and the great stuntwork throughout.Kymali
I wish they had taken the annoying woman's heart out instead.Boff
I really don't think it deserves to be on the "50 best sequels" list, especially not on 14th place.Wallmasterz
Short Round was amazing... you thuggee.StigAnder
This film could be so much better without the horrible woman, voodoo and if everything the asian kid said wasn't supposed to be a punchline or joke.Siskoid
The sequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark, it has an interesting venue and some good action, but Indiana's sidekicks will annoy you no end whenever they are on screen, especially the screechy Kate Capshaw.ChrisCrouch
Both the woman and the little kid were annoying as hell. But who cares, Harrison Ford is awesome :PEarring72
Ok Indiana Jones movie. Not as good as Raiders. BEcause of the mean and dark tone and leading lady. But great opening, terrific stunt work. Blu Ray looks and sounds gooddanisanna
Fun!dvdllr
The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull gets a lot of hate for ruining the franchise, but I'd watch that one any day of the week rather than this one. Four words: "Willie Scott" and "Short Round." Every time Willie spoke I just wanted Indy to punch her right in the mouth.TKotCS was unrealistic? How about a 10 year old kid beating up half a dozen grown men?

So overrated.inhonoredglory
I watched this ages ago and it was fun to see it again. We begin at the end of one of Indy's adventures and get whisked into a new one. I love the contrast between the play Asian characters in the musical number at the beginning, then the real Asian people in the village. I also like how the film uses authentic native people when it can.The music, of course, was great, and Indy's child sidekick was adorable. The "fame of glory" of Indy's initial motivation changes to something more benevolent by its exciting, breathtaking end. I am impressed that the special effects still look convincing, even by our digital standards.

For a film with so much action, this is pretty boring. Would still have been bad without the terrible supporting cast.juanittomx
The best part the whipping at the end :)Showing items 1 – 15 of 18
