It doesn't work very well as an political satire... but as a modern / new cinematic adaptation of Richard Connells "The Most Dangerous Game" really worth seeing.
Also liked Betty Gilpins great performance and the 4 years 8 months ago -

Not the most revolutionary premise for a film these days—after seeing Battle Royale, The Hunger Games trilogy, Wolf Creek, Naked Fear, The Eliminator, 31, Ready Or Not, Bacurau, and Roku's The Most Dangerous Game series within the span of a few years, I fear I've grown a little unimpressed with "humans hunted for sport"—and I personally wasn't too impressed with its variety of political messages and social commentary, but Betty Gilpin's performance is commendable as a sort of stoic loner. It's a fun film that I likely won't remember two years from now. 2 years 8 months ago -

Quite entertaining, bloody horror thriller "satire", not unlike Ready Or Not from last year. Strong lead. I was surprised how politically incorrect the concept is; big studios avoid such dangerous stuff for many years now. Realizing the script was probably already delicate in 2019/20 and I think that in how 2021 started for America, no one would touch it anymore. Lucky for Blumhouse, I guess.
Any moment I started to reflect on what The Hunt's actual message is, I was afraid the ideas behind it are rather dumb, so I'll just view it as an little, edgy 90-minute Battle Royale rip-off other than a profound allegory on the increasing division of the USA. 4 years ago
