I thoroughly enjoyed this movie from an artistic style, however a few of the characters left a bit to be desired. Carolyn, for example, is a heavily borrowed character that leaves little to like in pursuit of her "American dream." Col. Fitts is also too cookie cutter and predictable, making the movies climax seem dull or unfulfilling. Nonetheless, Spacey's flawless portrayal of the likable schmuck more than makes up for the other characters short-comings. At the end of the day this is a movie you should probably see. Many will like it, others will call it pretentious bullshit, both are probably right. If anything, appreciate the stylized direction of a young Mendes. It's entertaining at the least.

This movie has become one of my all time favorites. Great blend of humor and tragedy. A must watch for people who love to appreciate good acting and the thread of fate that is foretold. But, if you are an action movie fan, you won't like it.

I thought I would hate this movie but I ended up loving it! There's a certain subtlety about it, it's really beautiful.
Also, it kind of gives you a different perspective into your own life.

Tremendous work of art. The scene where Annie Lennox's cover of "Don't Let It Bring You Down" by Neil Young might very well be one of my all time favorite scenes in movie history.
