Man, this movie is chilling in its cynicism, and perhaps even more accurate with today's mass media. So good though.

Also, "I could do wonders with your dismembered body!" has to rank as one of the creepiest movie quotes ever.

An incredibly brilliant and satirical look at the media and the way it manipulates the public conscious to make a buck. Douglas and Wilder are at their best here. Deserves all the praise.

Fabulous fabulous movie. Billy Wilder at his best. Such a shame that it's so underrated.

"How'd you like to make yourself a thousand dollars a day, Mr. Boot? I'm a thousand-dollar-a-day newspaperman. You can have me for nothing."

Try to picture yourself saying that quote in a job interview.

Billy Wilder is a genius.

The main characters are such selfish, unlikeable people that it is difficult to watch them at times, but the performances are spot on.

Shame it wasn't appreciated on first release.

Noir in broad daylight, with a dark burrow of a secret.

Highly recommended.

Nowhere Man

A rare truly timeless movie.

Kirk Douglas masterfully creates a character that you like and despise at the same time. His ambition and leadership are irresistible and you want to follow him all the way...but secretly hope he has a moral revelation and changes his ways, but Wilder will have none of that.

Very good movie, the main character was awesome and Kirk Douglas played it to perfection. Lot of memorable quotes.

Really enjoyable movie about the transition of a man. Great study on greed, the circus of sensationalism journalism, and some really great shots here as well. Loved all the shots in the cave

Billy Wilder made many certified classics.... Double Indemnity, Sunset Blvd., Lost Weekend, Some Like It Hot and many many more..........
But this, critical and commercial bomb at initial release, COULD PROBABLY BE HIS BEST !

The ending is what makes this film great.

Well its not for movies to convey a message,it is not its purpose, but this movie strongly hits a home run about something that is poignant and a wretched reminder of how people are in this world. Everytime how we bend things and toast with the devil for survival and fame. The quintessential dialogue to sum the whole bewilderment of the way people run for impermanent pointless things was when the Alberquerque editor remonstrating :"Go where?".Kirk Douglas does his best in his portrayal of a ruthless reporter who'll put himself through anything to get to the top.His characterisation has taken a bark off "Sunset Bouleward's Norma Desmond with its tragic end.Billy Wilder roars again with a Noir magic.Enjoy folks
