Any praise for this documentary doesn't do justice to the immense loss of the Rzucek family. Though for the sake of helping you decide to watch it, I will say this:

This documentary deals with a topic spoiler that is quite impossible to fathom but happens too often. What sets this particular story apart is that first and foremost, the storytelling and sequencing is perfect. It is also unique in that everything was documented, and nearly everything on it on video. The family actively vlogged and grammed, showing many private moments on social media—happy moments. Surrounding the gruesome events, we get to see exclusively original footage, taken from police bodycams, interrogations (showing excellent police work, by the way), other people's recordings, various home security systems, phone calls, chat messages, and the court case. This results in a seemingly unabridged retelling of what transpired.

One will never fully understand what happened in this or comparable tragedies, but this is the clearest and most direct way it will ever be told. It is no tearjerker, it doesn't use music to add drama or suspense; it doesn't steer your interpretation through voice-overs or interviews. It doesn't need any of this to be a gripping and honest account of what happened to Shanann, CeCe, Bella and Nico. Although it will never bring them back, it honors them and has the potential to rekindle the dedication in viewers to invest in their loved ones.
