   The actual director is Ewan McGregor, not Phillip Noyce. McGregor does a fine job. The problems with the movie are all of the plot holes and the ridiculous dialog. 7 years 5 months ago

   Wonderful cinematography and a gripping tale. It falls short of excellence because of weak delivery at key points in the film.
   

   
   Maybe it's plot hole or maybe it went over my head but the reason behind the entire premise of the film was not revealed which left the entire experience somewhat devoid of any sort of emotional impact.
