Subtitles recently completed on KG.
Oliveira’s death a few days ago inspired me to give this a chance, but I’m surprised by the acclaim. Oliveria’s trademark love-it-or-hate-it stilted acting and restrained emotions, this time applied to mopey 17th century teens. Unremarkable mise-en-scene. Poor lighting. Simple story told at twice the length it merited. 9 years ago -

I agree that this film is sometimes boring and sometimes ridiculous but there are moments that I felt I was in a Horror movie and at other times that it was in a a satirical one, there are also parts that are expiremental, and so on.
