For the most part, this was dull and disappointing, considering this was made the year before Bertolucci's masterpiece, The Conformist, and the year after Pasolini's Teorema, another really great film. Godard's sequence is not bad considering it came in the middle of his more radically political period and is probably the most interesting sequence of the film. All the other sequences were pretty rough to sit through.

The problem with these types of films from this period is that they are so dated by politics that they don't really have much of a shelf life. Other films from the period that focus on politics but are actually either entertaining or informative have been able to much better hold my interest such as Far From Vietnam, another film that Godard contributed to.
