   Anchorman 2 is not as good Anchorman. If that's all you need to know, now you know.
   
   That said, there are a few funny moments, but very few that are memorable in the way the original movie's one liners were. It's notable that the film tried to avoid repeating a lot of the old jokes from the first film for as long as it could, and then released them all as a big finale.
   
   The most remarkable part of Anchorman 2 is its straightforward commentary on the importance of "real" news versus the dreck that 24-hour news channels produce. That, in its serious tone and importance, may be the most memorable part of this comedy.
   
   EDIT: Upon watching the film a second time, now in its alternate edit (advertised as having 738 new jokes), I have to give this film a better review. The editing it tighter, the jokes funnier, the musical numbers wilder, and the general atmosphere lighter and funnier. If you recall how much the original anchorman changed (for the worse) when it went to video release, you'll be pleasantly surprised to learn that Anchorman 2's video release is a lovely improvement to the film. Is it amazing? No, but it is a great time. 10 years 8 months ago
