I don't understand the IMDB rating for this film. One of my favorite movies, although I have only seen the new cut that is currently available on Blu-ray. Maybe the original cut was terrible, but the version I have seen is great.

No, nobody in this film can really sing but it doesn't matter. Fred Astaire couldn't really sing either but we all still love Top Hat and Swing Time. This will be one of those movies I watch over and over again throughout my life. 9 years 10 months ago

Muuuuuuch better than its reputation suggests. Witty dialogue, pretty people, gorgeous sets, good music. I thought it was great. The relentlessness of the musical numbers can get a bit tiresome towards the end (they sing literally every two minutes or so-- it's basically a sung-through film) but I still highly recommend it. Bogdanovich is a beast and he was in his prime here. 2 years 4 months ago

Ah, when Burt Reynolds was young and handsome and Cybil Shepard was in her prime. Beautiful to look at, the dance moves and costumes are worth a look. Although Shepard's singing could use a little help, it's still a pleasant enough movie to watch for a light few hours of great music. 11 years 11 months ago
