"Plaigiarism" accusations aside (anyone who was paying attention would realize they were homages, as evidenced by the Buster Keaton cutout in Barfi's room and the Charlie Chaplin poster) it's actually a pretty decent movie. Yeah, the Notebook scenes were pretty obvious; Basu (the director) is taking a lot of heat for that now, and rightfully so.
But that's all it is. A decent movie. Not the great movie its 8.1 IMDb rating would suggest. This film is definitely over-rated. To make matters worse, India sent it for the Oscars over several other more deserving movies. 10 years 9 months ago -
