Just wonderful. Extraordinary direction from Christensen, who deftly mixes dark themes with humour, whimsy, and charm to create one of the most memorable films I've seen this year. The soundtrack is impeccable, the characters are well defined without becoming caricatures, and the script masterfully avoids the temptation to wrap everything up neatly whilst still providing a satisfying conclusion. Throw in some perfectly executed moments of surrealism, such as the dance in the bowling alley and the bow and arrow scene, and you have a real sleeper hit from one of the brightest young talents in Hollywood. 9 years 3 months ago -
