Thanks to John Singelton's writing and directing as well as the amazing perfromences and the strong message, Boyz n the Hood is one of the most effective and powerful films I have seen in a while. It may also be the best and most realistic portrayal of a an american black neighborhood in L.A that i have ever seen.

Damn, damn good movie. Loved it. One of the most emotional movies I have seen in a long time. Amazing performances, writing, and directing. Honestly, this movie is a little overlooked. Definitely a precursor to themes in The Wire and Straight Outta Compton. 8 years 3 months ago
