One thing I'm very impressed is the cinematography and visual effects. But overall, it was an 'okay' movie for me.

I feel like the movie tried a bit too hard to be super magical, with the music and such, but I had fun and fun is all that I asked for. Fun and sweetness.

Stunning visuals, accompanied with a fitting cast and a great attempt at a live-action of the classic tale, Cinderella.

I postponed watching this for months. Some of the dialogue was horrible but in other scenes they were great. I love the "I forgive you." line. That's something that we all should learn how to do.

Can I take this as an opportunity to say that I think eliminating Walt's name from the company logo is tacky and even kind of vulgar? There. Opportunity taken.

What lovely lighting and cinematography. What a great performance from Cate Blanchett. What profound beauty there is in the child who is so good, so pure, so enlivening that birds and butterflies flock to her. A girl who, even in her most dour moments, has sunlight bursting through windows just to shine on her. That's really terrific stuff.

The adaptation puts virtually nothing new on the table in terms of story or insight which is disappointing. I wish Disney hadn't pressured Branagh and friends to utilize the less-than-convincing and more-than-out-of-place CGI mice friends. But the love and affection the film has for its protagonist is moving. And for those of us who have met such light and bird inviting people, spiritually resonant even.

Just gotta say, Cate Blanchett is sheer perfection,
to me she's the star of the movie,
her costumes, the way she gave depth to character, love her :D
besides that movie is okay, nothing special, kids will love it

Is it just me or was Helena Bonham Carter's acting in this film kind of... weak? I mean, her narration was spot on, yeah, but compared to the rest of the cast - especially Blanchett, who shined above everyone else -, her acting seemed so... uh... well, weak, I guess. Even a tad Johnny Deppiesque, I would say.
(Or was it just the heavy CGI/makeup hiding her face from us anytime she was onscreen?)

Besides that, pretty good flick to watch with the kids on a rainy Sunday. Expect beautiful visuals, but an average to mediocre script and dialogues.

Unfortunate Synopsis

These live-action productions of animated classics lack the simplicity and charm that made the originals so endearing.

Perfect Cinderella movie! Fairy-tale in live action motion picture can't get better than this. A cherishable film from Disney this year.. :)

Cute one. As close as we're getting to seeing a fairy tale come alive and probably the best of the 2010s Disney live-action remakes.

Fairy tale bliss. Cute as a button.

Very average, a trend that seems to be increasingly common with the Disney live-action fairytale movies. The visuals are pretty good but the quality of the plot and the characters just isn't there. It's like a shiny wrapped present with a bow and nothing worthwhile in it.

Well, Helen Bonham Carter and Cate Blanchett in one movie, is a pretty good thing!

Watched this for the first time, came here to check it off and discovered I saw it 4 years ago. Guess that sums up how forgettable it is.

Update: Two years after writing the comment above I came here to check if I had seen this film, because I wasn't sure... Says it all.
