Correction to my above comment! Of course, while the film included the number '1984' it was released in 1982...so it was likely on video by 1983. Which sounds more sensible for me being too young to see it. Mind you, maybe watching it had something to do with my not-long-after (and current) punk rock tendencies... :D 12 years 6 months ago -

I read something today that reminded me of this film - which I recall seeing on its initial realise to video (so, probably 1985?). Watching the trailer now is pretty comical (even at age 12/13, I was far too young to be watching this {by 'those days' standards - not so much these days!}; I probably sneaked it home from the video rental shop!), and it also makes me wonder what other 'students gone wild' films there were between 1967's 'To Sir With Love' and this - long before 'Dangerous Minds' (1995) and its copycat ilk.
I remember 'Class of 1984' also being kind of a big deal because someone so bad (lead rogue) could be played by someone related to America's favourite Dad, Dick van Patten, of 'Eight Is Enough!' :D.
I see now that Timothy van Patten has become an accomplished Director in is his own right - well done, him! 12 years 6 months ago
