This is a really entertaining sci-fi you would do well to grab.
Twists and turns, ups and downs, slow and fast. Mixing it up and taking no prisoners. The Roswell thing was a brilliant tongue-in-cheek moment. Initial pacing is a bit clumsy but stick with it and be rewarded.
Films like this is why I love books by Thomas Pynchon and Phillip K Dick. Does everything make sense? No. Is it unique and completely engrossing? Yes. What the fuck else do you need in a film?
A nice surprise. I guess the best way to describe it is as Schrodinger's dinner party. Friends experience a strange event when a comet passes too close to the Earth and must, as the movie progresses, figure out what's going on before parallel dinner parties start intruding. It's exactly the kind of puzzle movie you can do with the genre absent any kind of budget. Even the casting is done on a shoestring, with various TV stars you forgot all about popping in (including Nick Brendon from Buffy in a somewhat meta role). Recommended for fans of Community; they'll understand why. And if you like to overthink things, there's one version of events that's a real twister (but I think the truth is more simpler, personally).
I really enjoyed this film. It gives you a lot to think about. It takes bits and pieces of history, science fiction and mythology as well as other films to create something new that is exciting, mysterious, strange, as well as tense and even scary at times.
It seems to reference or at least remind me of Primer, Time Crimes, Melancholia and the Twilight Zone episode, The Monsters are Due on Maple Street as well as the episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Case of Mr. Pelham. It also references comet events like Tunguska and Haley's. It also references the folklore of the doppelgänger, which is one of my favorite concepts in the history of storytelling. In folklore, the story goes that if you were to meet your doppelgänger, you must kill him/her before the doppelgänger kills you because it wants you out of the picture so it can replace you and take over your life.
A great watch! If you're up for the alternative indie-movie experience tonight and not just an easy-to-watch-flick, then pick Coherence. It's relatively short, and you might just love it. I know I did.
boxojoi: she was looking for the perfect life / timeline to enter but because she wasn't in it from the start bad things happened.
not too many movie in which I dislike the ending but his is definitely one of them.
The movie builds well to the climax, complex enough to keep you engaged but not confusing, but the finish comes out of nowhere in a bad way. Never the less, pretty good for a parallel universe sci fi.
This film makes sense, and then it doesn't make sense. It not making sense is supposed to be explained by infinite possibilities, but that's not a good excuse.

Most tense and nail-biting experience I've ever had with a movie. I was seriously freaking out every other minute or so...Emiam
7/10Exciting and different sci-fi. I like the idea. Unpredictable.
