   I chose Dark Waters based on how well it would seem to pair with Suspiria, both focus on secluded occultish colonies with an underlying dark secret. Lot of good scary and blasphemous imagery in this borderline nunsploitation film. Some of the effects, especially in the last act, are pretty fun.
   
   In one of the special features provided by Severin for this movie, the director says that 90s Horror was progressing more into comedy, with jokes punctuated by kills. Baino then wanted to make something that was just scary and disturbing, steering away from trends. He succeeds in that this is far from a teen slasher (which I appreciate), but it is also barely any fun. Especially in the middle, this flick gets pretty convoluted and boring. A shame though that Baino didn't go on to make any more features. 6 months 3 weeks ago
