Tarantino's portion of Grindhouse. Though slow to start, I was fully entertained by the end, and it struck me that the deliberate crapiness of the first part (bad editing, scratched film), especially when contrasted with the crispness of the second had a point to it. I won't spoil anything for you if you haven't seen it, but the two parts contrast how exploitation movies were made back in the day and how they are made now, especially those starring women. Yes, I was impatient with it at times, but every choice was justified by the end.
The only Tarantino film where I struggled a bit to get through it. The last 20 minutes or so was 100% worth it though. The entire project almost feels like some kind of short story given the big screen treatment. As if there's not enough material there so everything feels stretched out. There's a lot of dialog, like a crap ton of dialog which kind of reminded me of the diner scene in Reservoir Dogs but the major difference is that so much of it is just simply uninteresting. In Dogs, those scenes served to build up the characters but in this film it's just filler to get us to a point where maybe we feel something for them, especially in the first half. Kind of surprising stuff from Tarantino to be honest, I expected better.

Awesome movie. Simple, direct, fun. The last scene made me jump out of my couch and cheer. Epic Tarantino.DisneyStitch

Just rewatched this for the umpteenth time. Love it. Admittedly the first half is not so great, but the second half is awesome.Have to rewatch Vanishing Point soon.
