Overal a great horror movie.
It kept me on the edge of my seat for the first 2/3’s of the movie.
The last act is also good but unfortunately the tension fizzles out prematurely.
Allot of scenes building up dread but never any pay-off.
And because of this the scenes also feel very disconnected. But still there is great suspense and great camerawork.
All of the actors are also solid and bring even minor characters vividly to life.
However this movie might be difficult for some English viewers because it is mostly spoken in a mix of interchanging Polish and English because that is kind of the “slang” that the characters talk in. And the English is pretty poor. Subtitles recommended. (It already had English subs for the Polish parts but I recommend watching it with subs also for the parts that are in English. Personally I didn’t have a problem with it but I thought I should put out a warning).
It has a strong atmosphere that feels similar to “The Shining” and fellow Polish director Andrei Zulawski’s “Possesion”.
It is really unfortunate that writer/director Marcin Wrona committed suicide right before the first screening of the movie because this movie shows allot of promise and talent.

It has A LOT to say about memory and it's beautifully tragic. The horror might be in what is forgotten and hidden, and in the confusion.
The crazy party that goes out of control reminded me of Climax weirdly haha.
The movie has also a really interesting structure that I guess was intentional: I don't know if it's spoilery to say it, but the movie kind of fades away, leaving many things in the dark. It was heartbreaking for me. 4 years 9 months ago
