In spite of the good gore effects, clever premise and amusingly bad dubbing, I just found this movie DULL. Maybe it's the dearth of unanswered questions that give you the sense the movie just doesn't give a single fuck.
Why is so much attention given to the druggie street punks when their contribution to the narrative is absolute nil? Why is a blind man going to a movie premier? Why the fuck does a helicopter crash through the ceiling? Why was a helicopter parked on the roof of a movie theatre? Who's the guy in the Kano mask? What the fuck is going ON?
The movie doesn't seem to care, so why the hell should I?
Terrible acting, terrible effects, terrible plot lines and twists in several places, especially the further into the film I got. Altogether, a terrible film.
However, cheesiness is almost a good thing to have in horror films, and this was definitely filled with cheese.
And it has a pretty fantastic 80s soundtrack too.
If you can get past the english dubbing (a poor strategy to make Italian films appealing and sellable in North America) I thought this was really fun. The effects were visually creative and the plot was clever. We don't love giallo films for the story, we love it for the visually stunning gore.
It was the moment with the teeth that got me hooked!

What I call a Cheese & Jam horror, bloody and bad in a strangely beguiling way. It has its moments but it's too awkwardly executed to get a pass.corchap
