Great performance of Christoph Waltz. Astonishing dialogues interspersed with funny, bloody, and brutal scenes. One of Tarantino's masterpieces.Jurke
Brilliant!salvarc
Tarantino rhymes with "fuckin' genious"!KroganPrincess
In contrast with Tezelians opinion, I think the rap music was a nice touch. It was meant to look like a joke.Though in overal I found this movie a bit to long, yet some parts were quite awesome.

Over-rated.They ruined the movie when they put rap music with a movie set in the 19th century, what a joke. On the contrary, Christoph Waltz was magnificent.

Quentin, that may pass for an Aussie accent in the US but not down here. Thanks for the entertaining evening though.jaana
After hearing so much negative comments on the movie, I must say I was positively surprised how good it actually was. I enjoyed the dialogue to bits, especially Christoph Waltz's performance. The movie didn't feel as long as it was, I'd say it's a good, entertaining watch.Oneironaut

Yet another Tarantino masterpiece.Joker of Gotham
For me the biggest surprise in the movie was seeing Jonah hill, but of course was in a funny role. I think that this movie will not win the oscar for best movie, but I think that Christoph Waltz has a good shot to win best suporting actor, he did a fantastic job, Samuel L. Jackson was great in his role like Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio. This is a great movie but not my favourite western movie or my favourite Tarantino movie4/5

Django Unchained is the most fun movie I saw in 2012. It was filled with amazing acting, great story, awesome characters, superb script as usual from Tarantino and awesome direction. Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L Jackson absolutely stole the movie in this film and Jamie Foxx was superb as well!Roelvinkie
I loved every moment of it. Christoph Waltz was fantastic indeed, but don't forget the memorable acting by Samuel L. Jackson!devilsadvocado
Although I have to admire the basterd for his creativity, I'm not a fan of many of QT's stylistic choices here (the 1970s kitsch, hip hop music in an 1850s "southern", tomato sauce gore, etc.). While watching Django today, whenever some of the usual Tarantino flair popped up I couldn't help but to imagine him bent over his film stock in post-production, masturbating vigorously with Christopher Waltz massaging his shoulders and murmuring, "Oh thank you, Quentin, thank you so much for this opportunity...". After all these years and all his success, it just feels childish and self-indulgent for him to keep adding all these nonsense "artistic flourishes" as he likes to call them. I was over it by the time he got to Kill Bill.Nevertheless, this was an entertaining film and a pretty unique story, albeit one that loses a lot of its cohesion by the end. I'd have to rank it 2nd to worst in Tarantino's filmology, though. I don't think he's losing his touch really, nor do I think he's become a total caricature of himself -- but I also don't believe that he's evolving or that he will ever have another Pulp Fiction in him.
And yes, as some others have pointed out, DiCaprio just doesn't work in a Tarantino film. I'm not sure why, but he sticks out like a sore thumb.
