Amazing film. Glorious camera work. Good acting from both leads. Touching story about a mother letting go. Quite freudian and quite funny. Extremely recommended!

It was a drag that the 2023 TSPDT list update, after the new Sight and Sound poll, left me with forty unchecked films when I was just five away from being done. However, it turned out to be a blessing-- as it always is when you get new movies to see. Some of them have been a chore to watch. Others have been beautiful discoveries. This is the latter. I had never even heard of Muratova. Now I'll try to watch everything she's made. 7 months 1 week ago

Lots of talk and not much story. That online version is seven minutes shorter than the displayed IMDb length, and it's obvious why. It runs too fast. Everyone speaks far too rapidly. Unfortunate. 10 months 2 weeks ago
