Cracking neon visual style and synth-heavy 80s soundtrack, however the narrative is streamlined almost to the point of over-simplicity and is more than a little sloppy, ultimately boiling down to nothing more than a (kind of) modern retelling of Bonnie And Clyde. Just with updated sunglasses styles. This is redeemed somewhat by the acting; the lead role pushes the charisma and 'coolness' of Sturgess to the absolute limit, but he rises to the task admirably and delivers a strong performance, which is a relief seeing as the movie rests entirely on his shoulders. This is definitely an exercise in style over substance, but, when the style is this slick and fun, I think you can let that slide. 9 years 4 months ago
