Man, I wanted to like this movie so badly. District 9 was a fantastic sci fi movie. This was not. It was just super formulaic, had super cliche plot devices, and really bad dialogue and accents. I could barely watch any time Jodie Foster was on the screen the way she talked was so weird. Was District 9 a fluke for Blomkamp? I'd give him another shot, but this one was like Prometheus for me. Had the chance to be really awesome movies with great casts, but just ended up with really crappy scripts. 10 years 8 months ago -
