Smart and enjoyable take on the Rio Bravo/Assault on Precinct 13 genre. Sags slightly in the middle with a torture scene that feels a little too over the top, but in general a hell of of a lot of fun with a very good central Hayek performance.
Has the makings of a future cult film, for better or worse. Everly feels decidedly sub-Rodriguez, who himself is a highly derivative director, making this something like an imitation of an imitation. It's very flawed, and misses every emotional note that it tries so desperately to hit, but it's good fun when it wants to be and that slick final tracking shot goes some way towards redemption.
