Extraneous scenes that are there purely for thematic reasons but fall woefully flat in terms of narrative.
Shots last far too long. Do we really need to see cruise walk to a fridge and get a beer at a deathly slow pace? Walk quicker!!!
The scene when Alice tells Bill about the desire she felt for the man at the hotel must be one of my favourite moments in cinema, what a spectacular show of long forgotten and hidden emotions. One of my favourites of Kubrick.
This film changed my perspective regarding a hell lot of things. It's full of symbols and hidden meanings. God! Kubrick is such a genius! He's done a hell lot of research in order to pull off this film in particular. I don't think I could watch it again though because it scared the living shit out of me but, ironically "Eyes Wide Shut" is a real eye opener to the new world order that most of the people populating our planet know nothing about.
Piece of advice: Look up "Eyes Wide Shut explained" after watching this because it will make you understand the concept of the film a whole lot better and hell, it'll teach you a thing or two about the world you live in.
I have a lot of respect for Kubrick for he has made films that really do mean something, that really stimulate your thinking and leave you touched one way or another.
