Any average climber laughed watching these two stupid girls making one stupid thing after another...CGI are so lame...everything is so predictable...go vultures !
Very thrilling at some momment with shocking plot twist. But as an audience I felt more like anger rather than thrill. The survival story sounds unreal. Also, the stupids are equipped with cool gadgets without knowing how to use it in time of emergency.
Throwing the first phone could be less impactfull on the ground if they would tie it up with the drone. If the drone can fly at 2000ft hight, it should have strength to carry a phone securely down at the base.
47 Meters Down in the other direction, Fall is a vertiginous film that, had there been nothing else I wanted to see, I would have experienced in theaters. But I'm not sure I could have taken it. Like The Walk, it gives you vertigo even in the home setting. Props to the actresses for doing it for real, even with 100 feet playing 2,000, as it gives this survival thriller an upsetting reality. Like the best of this subgenre, it's one damn thing after another as plans to get down from a free-climbed, disused television tower are foiled by accidents. What's not so strong is the melodrama, some of which is patently unnecessary, and a late twist that I nevertheless warmed up to. But if you're not a nervous wreck watching this, you're a braver person than I. I found myself audibly gasping and cursing at the lack of handrails in the action, and for that feeling, I wanted to give the movie 3½ out of 5, but having to admit the script's weaknesses (including an everlasting phone battery), sprang only for a 3. Shall we agree on 3 and a quarter?
Only reason I watched this was because my nephew brought it up. I don't know if they were by the same director or anything but it felt exactly like "47 Meters Down" to me. A couple of stupid young people trying to do stupid stuff. Their attempt at a plot twist was exactly the same as "47 Meters Down" as well, just a different location. Either it's by the same people or they ripped that idea off. I would never have watched this if not for my nephew bringing it over to watch (I'd never even heard of it before he started in about it recently). It's just more of the same, aimed towards other stupid young people to encourage them to go out and do stupid things as well (speaking of I sure hope nobody is actually dumb enough to try their so called "life hack" in this movie).
