It's great that this movie has great intentions: fine cinematography, intellectual dialogue, powerful performances by Jude Law & Colin Firth, and the "story behind" Thomas Wolfe's brief literary career. But, Nicole Kidman and Laura Linney's roles as Wolfe's & Max Perkin's significant others are a waste, and the whole thing gets trite by the end. (If you saw the recent The Man Who Saw Infinity, you will get the SAME ENDING). At the very least, it got me excited to try and read Look Homeward Angel.
