   Aniform

   While fairly enjoyable and technically hits all the right notes, it suffers from being too much like others that have come before. There is a certain formula for these types of movies that ultimately makes them fall flat. I felt the same with all the clones of Blow, which even Blow felt like a by the numbers clone itself, but I'm failing to think of another example. This is the reason biographical or semi-biographical Hollywood movies are often very tough to get interested in, it's paint by number. 7 years ago

   I liked this movie, the fact that it is based on a true story made me go off and research the original events (BRE-X scandal in Canada) and I like how they adapted the plot for this film's narrative. McConaughey and Ramirez are very solid, the friendship they develop really comes across well and all the supporting cast do great work throughout. Recommended. 6 years 5 months ago
