Amazing flick. I don't even like horror but I loved this.imokaylarry
A fun and silly throwback to paranoia horror sci-fi like Bodysnatchers and Quatermass. In my mind both Halloween 2 & 3 succeed for completely different reasons. 2 has absolutely no plot of its own, simply extending the plot of the first film by a few hours - but it does it with panache, and there’s a real command over the filmmaking. Yes it’s sometimes clumsy, but so’s the first one. It gets away with this clumsiness better however because of a radically different tone that takes itself less seriously, clearly influenced by giallo, and frankly nailing it, though some of the deaths could do with being a bit more grizzly. If only there was a little more substance to it, or at least a plot. That’s where Halloween 3 comes in: it’s all plot, and makes a good fist of it too. It may lack the intoxicating style of 2 and the characters and iconography from the rest of the series, but it’s a memorable stand alone film that’s iconic in its own right. Again, it’s very silly and not to be taken seriously, but that’s perfect for Halloween viewing.Siskoid
An artifact from when the Halloween films were supposed to be a thematic anthology, Halloween III: Season of the Witch probably gets ignored or trashed because it isn't a Michael Myers flick. Or maybe audiences find the awkward mix of science-fiction and horror tropes not to their liking. But I tend to give films extra points if they're a little bit bonkers. I think this fits the bill (but look away now lest you be spoiled every surprise)...On cinema at the cinema

The biggest problem with the film is not that it doesn't feature Michael Myers or hasn't got anything to do with the Halloween franchise, but rather that it's a shitty movie which is neither scary, thrilling, entertaining or anything. Hard to the say what's more ridiculous: our charmless protagonist, the goofy plot or that annoything jingle. Cinematography, music and that Carpenter vibe weren't bad, though. How this is getting some kind of positive cult reexamination is mysterious to me.

I'm surprised that the majority of comments are negative. I thought this film was really entertaining! After seeing this I'm glad I persevered through Halloween II (which I found pretty lacklustre).Larusso
Fun and entertaining. And it has some cool effects. I wish people would get the fuck over its name and appreciate it as a stand alone movie.AfterTheParade
People, could you eventually forget about the title of this movie? Yes we know there's no Michael Myers in it and that's probably the reason why this is quite an intelligent little horror flick about mass media, commodity fetishism and how people in the 20s and even more in the 21st century are affected by its manipulative character.RyanGerardM
Its okay, that's all I can say really. Would have liked it slightly better if it was a stand alone film and not part of the Halloween series.BeasleyOnFilm
It's fine. That's as complimentary as I can be.Ronet
One of the 50 greatest sequels of all time? What have you been smoking, Empire Online?aino
Boring as hell and has nothing to do with the original.Prof. Lumpcicle
@jorislclExcept for the fact he scored and produced the film. I would call that "something".
Trust me, the whole vibe is Carpenter.
Michael Myers movies sucked after II anyways. I really wish they would have buried that character and continued to make cool flicks like this.
