It appears wasn't welcome on this train. Oh, wait, that's a good thing, right? 6 years 9 months ago -

This is the first piece in KINO's release of 'Pioneers of African-American Cinema' collection, which is currently streaming on Netflix. An amusing little piece of Christian propaganda starring a devil who looks straight out of a Melies film. Camerawork is oftentimes very shaky and frenetic, something you don't see everyday in films from that era, and the shots of the devil himself cackling are amusing. I agree with HCShannon that it tends to drag. An interesting piece of film history, nevertheless. 7 years 1 month ago -

Low budget, silent film made by black evangelists, shows various sins being committed (dancing to "evil" jazz, drinking, adultery, robbery, you name it) as the Devil drives his train through town, gets tedious and predictable after a while. 7 years 2 months ago
