   Almost uniformly ugly animation (especially the 3D), and a lazy story with elements that can be found in much superior anime.

   What would a giant robot anime be like if Shinkai did one? The action is solid, but like the rest of his work, it's really about what impressions the lead characters have, and like Your Name, uses science-fiction to create a distance between star-crossed lovers. There's a sense that this isn't really happening and stands as a metaphor for a real-life event - Evangelion is a probable influence - but it's just out of reach.
