   Subdued, but skillfully made drama/thriller, about a young girl being kidnapped. This is more on the arty side then about taking the easy route (Suspense! oooeeeh plottwist!), so don't expect a great deal of 'popcorn value' here. If there is such a thing. :) 6 years 7 months ago

   Based on probably my favorite tru-crime story: the kidnapping of Colleen Stan. Unfortunately the true story is much weirder and darker. Seems like a missed opportunity since this is a decent, yet fairly thin film.
   
   (And could've been called "Girl in a Box' like the old Crime Library article. Still don't know what 'Hounds of Love' means.) 4 years 6 months ago

   Good suspense thriller overall. Not sure why Greenhog thinks this movie is based on The Kidnapping of Colleen Stan case, they made a lifetime movie called Girl in a Box that was based on that case. This movie is based on a few different Australian-based murder cases, with most closely based on the Australian serial killers David and Catherine Birnie. Well acted all around and was very well-made. I wouldn't say it was a top 1000 horror film but still worth watching. 11 months 2 weeks ago
