Deliciously addictive. It's political drama, the usual web of characters and loyalties, but besmirched in the modern gloss of total corruption, or at the very least, an insecure froth of insular language and ritual, shadows and dust. There's the usual blend of ambitious students, even more ambitious journalists, and sly lawyers working day and night to pan things out. But overall you stay for Spacey's marvellous central character, a sly devil with a truly forked tongue, engaging in a brilliant, Machiavellian revenge strike. Make no mistake, this isn't The West Wing, where the characters would often wrestle with morality. This is played as the wrong choice for the wrong reasons, and you'll enjoy every moment.
