A strangely captivating movie. It did not become one of my favourites and I do not intend to watch it again, but I could not stop watching it either.The story was alright and the acting was really good. But what fascinated me the most were all the motifs and symbol used in the movie. The sand resembling the unreliable foundation the house rests on, the fog keeping the illusion of the house being the most important thing in life for both parties... and the recurring symbol of the bird, which applies to almost every character in the movie...
So all in all quite interesting.
