I went into this without high expectations, and was surprisingly intrigued for the first 3/4 of the movie. Unfortunately, the ending was a letdown by not following what was previously established in the film. Also, I'm shocked that Patrick Wilson agreed to do this, in what will no doubt be the weirdest role of his career, aside from that one random and completely unbelievable episode of Girls, where you're supposed to buy that his character is completely infatuated with Lena Dunham.. The only other actor that I recognized was the kid from Bunk'd (I have kids lol), who gave a surprisingly much more tolerable performance than his annoying ones on that show. So to summarize, not a bad flick if you're bored, browsing Netflix, and in the mood for something creepy, but don't expect to be blown away.

Another Stephen King story that looks so pedestrian, you wonder how it's going to last more than 10 mn or evoke any feeling but boredom... and you keep wondering well into the movies unfortunately.
Marred by an unoriginal and predictable script, some of the most mediocre acting I've seen outside of Youtube in the last 10 years and constant screaming, the movie doesn't get much from Vincenzo Natali's beautiful shots.

It's alright. Reminiscent of Lost.

This was really terrible. What a waste of Patrick Wilson, haha

I really liked this one. I knew nothing about the story and went in completely blind. The plot was intriguing and kept me on the edge of my seat. I love movies/tv shows with a mysterious atmosphere that keep you guessing - this was a perfect example. Vincento Natali does a great job with directing. Good pacing, interesting camera work and he keeps it simple, yet effective. The cast was good and I was surprised at how well the child actor did (child actors usually annoy me but the boy wasn't bad).

I also liked how there was little to no back story for the setting or it's antagonist. They don't explain how or why which makes it even creepier. Many horror movies are ruined when a motive is given - there is none here and that adds to the eeriness of it all.

My only complaint was that some of the exposition was kinda clunky and I wish they were a little more subtle with some of the back stories.

But if you're looking for a solid mystery/horror flick, definitely check out "In The Tall Grass". It will keep you engaged and entertained the whole way through.
