I had the unique opportunity to experience Inception again in a cinema 10 years after its release yesterday evening, as the local cinema chain here is warming up with a Nolan marathon before Tenet will be premiered.
In 2010 I went twice to the cinema to see Inception and was completely blown away both times. Then 10 years pass and I didn't see it again until yesterday.
Needless to say, the movie magic is still there. What a cinema experience! There were some plot points that I found to be a bit incoherent but I fully realize that might just be my own stupidity instead of Nolan's storytelling. The score I also found to be overly dramatic and a tad distracting at times. But all in all, this is Nolan's masterpiece and last decade's greatest film.
I think this is the best movie of Nolan, playing with our minds trying to give us a plot twist in every corner of the movie.
Di Caprio, sadly not Oscar winner, fits perfectly as protagonist.
The story of Cobb and Mal,makes the idea of dreams a little bit dangerous and tries to immpress an opinion of reality.
We will never know all the possible interpretations of this movie. Those who think its over rated need many repeat watches to know its depth. I saw this for almost 10th time and now i got some clues that the whole movie might be a dream. That's what I call a great movie. It probably didn't get the best picture cause the academy members didn't get it like all those people who think it was over rated.
Inception was the much-talked-about mindf*ck in which people navigate others' dreams (a straight cross between Ocean's Eleven and The Matrix). Its play on reality is both visually inventive and entertainingly complex enough to bear multiple viewings. My inception moment: That night, I actually dreamed about Inception and woke up around five thinking I had figured out just where reality broke down, but then the rest of the morning REM sleep added lots of extra clues that proved my theory and which of course, weren't there. The kind of puzzle film that will keep people debating for a while. Nolan continues to impress with his action-filled think pieces.
Watching it in theatres was the absolute best. It's one of Nolan's films that is really as confusing as you want it to be depending on how much you invest your mind into it (nothing like "Memento" which was nigh impossible to read on the first viewing). Even if you don't necessarily understand the plot devices you can still sit back and enjoy without feeling totally lost. Nolan did a great job because of that reason. However, somehow the movie loses its re-watch ability over time. After seeing it maybe 5 or 6 times I have no desire or need to plop down for another 148 minutes and see it again.
One of the greatest and most marvelous movies I've had the pleasure of enjoying with all my heart in my life. It's a real shame for those who can't feel the superbness of this movie the way I do. This movie makes me glad to be alive, to be able have all the senses needed to enjoy it. I would give my life to all the people who've helped create this extraordinary piece of art just to show my appreciation for their work. There is nothing in this life that I can give them to show how much I love them for giving us Inception. The incredibly wondrous feelings Inception has given cannot be explained with mere words. These feelings cannot be explained. My entire being can believe in the world Inception has created. The feeling of hatred almost arises because of those who have the nerve to say that this movie isn't great, almost enough to feel that their lives deserve to be ended for disrespecting this great masterpiece. But that's just me and my extremist thoughts about people who don't understand and experience the phenomenal sensations I get when watching movies like Inception. I love Inception, I would die for Inception, and all those who don't feel the same way are missing out on the feelings of wonder and greatness this definition of perfection has given me.
Christopher Nolan, you are one of the greatest!!
10/10
Great movie. I enjoyed it very much. Wish it was just a little shorter, like someone else said, lacking in the suspense category but still an overall great film.
@nick-samuel: Yes, it's actually a comic but it was animated a little and added to the Blu-ray release of the movie. It's called Inception: The Cobol Job. It's hard to find online but I did find this Spanish video that includes it from 3:00 to 18:15: (mod-edit: dead link removed). Enjoy!

A roller coaster trick reaching remarkable heights of pretentiousness and dullness. It's like having the snow globe without the rosebud.Read more in French on La Saveur des goƻts amers.
